Bothy Folk Song Club Privacy Policy

On 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. This regulation requires that not only must it be certain that an individual has given consent for their personal data to be stored but it must be made clear how that personal data is used and stored. The Bothy Folk Song Club has always been careful with any personal data held and this policy sets out how we do that.

Personal data held, how we use it and how long we keep it.

Individuals on the mailing list:

Name and email address: This is used to email news and information to that individual and will not be shared with a third party. We keep this data until the individual opts out of the mailing list by
replying to an email with “unsubscribe” in the subject line.

Members:

Name and email address: This is used to email news and information to the member. Email addresses will be removed if membership is not renewed within 6 months of expiry.

Postal address: This is only used to send membership cards by post if necessary, or if there is a problem with the email address.

Phone numbers: We do not ask for telephone numbers.

The above data will not be shared with a third party and will be kept for 6 months after membership ends to allow for renewals.

This data is required to process the ticket order. The data will not be shared with a third party. The phone number if provided will only be used if there is a problem with the order. We do not have access to credit or debit card details which are held securely by WeGotTickets.

Security

The data is held at a location remote from the venues used by the Bothy Folk Song Club. Electronic data is password and firewall protected.
Our on-line tickets are sold by wegottickets.com. The WeGotTickets Privacy Policy can be found at: https://www.wegottickets.com/ppl. All ticket payments are processed by wegottickets.com on a secure server, and the Bothy Folk Song Club has no access to those details.
